What: “Optimizing Quality, Compliance and Capacity in Medicare Home Health”
            2-Day Workshop

Where: The Meadows Events & Conference Center - Altoona, Iowa (Des Moines)

When: July 14 & 15, 2009 (8:30 am – 4:30 pm)

Who: Iowa Medicare-Certified Home Health Agencies

Why: To acquire the knowledge and tools to effectively and confidently expand
           your Medicare business

Differences discovered in Iowa home health practice has led to lower Medicare utilization than the national average in favor of Medicaid and other government funded programs. Such inter-program utilization pattern disparities can impact publicly reported quality outcomes because of the differences in program practice models; from “length of stay” to “plans of care”.  Changing utilization patterns between programs requires a change in perspective and perceptions of program criteria and compliance, primarily homebound status.

This intensive 2-day workshop will provide participants with:

1.       A discussion of “quality” in the context of practice patterns influenced by these program models.

2.       Guidance to operationalize compliance criteria into daily practice (i.e. documentation and audit processes).

3.       Iowa Department of Inspection and Appeals insights that will assist providers in Medicare survey readiness.

4.       A look to the future of providing services to people in their own homes and the influence by research and policy initiatives might have on our practice utilization.

5.       Metrics and key performance indicators that will allow providers to measure success with improved Medicare utilization.
